On 19 November, The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will listen to the Government's Report on the Basic Criteria of the Budgetary Process
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement at the briefing on Monday.
Volodymyr Lytvyn informed that Fedir Yaroshenko, Minister of Finance of Ukraine, would answer the questions of the People´s Deputies. According to him, representatives of the economic department of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine shall inform the Parliament and the public "on approaches the Government used drafting the State Budget", and on correspondence of the basic budget indexes to the economic situation and public needs.
Volodymyr Lytvyn declared that the Government would brief on the fundamentals of the Memorandum on Cooperation with IMF, since this document "has a great impact on the basic indexes and criteria of the budget."
V.Lytvyn believes that the Cabinet of Ministers shall inform on the basic criteria of the social policy for the nearest future, as "we may face a gap between the state opportunities and social laws." "An open conversation and appropriate decisions are important. It is necessary to focus on the implementation of the effective legislation, rather than adopt new social laws", he emphasised.
